Intimate Cottage Wedding in the Kawartha Lakes | Kasey + Jordan
I drove out to this huge Airbnb cottage for Kasey and Jordan’s wedding weekend, and it was perfect for an intimate wedding. They rented the place for a long weekend with their closest people, had the ceremony outside by the lake, and hosted this cozy outdoor dinner as the sun went down.
The whole day felt relaxed in the best way. No rushing, no stress - just lots of time for portraits, hanging out, and letting things unfold naturally.
And the portraits? I was losing my mind a little bit. Kasey later wrote in her review that she was “literally screaming” when she saw some of the photos, which felt very validating because I was basically screaming internally while taking them. The light was unreal, and the two of them just naturally fell into each moment with the tiniest bit of direction from me. Total dream combination.
One funny detail: the ceremony setup on the grass was apparently directly over the septic tank. You’d never know from the photos, obviously, but it became a running joke during the day and got quite a few laughs.
They also had one of the most thoughtful wedding details I’ve seen - every place card included a few lines about what they loved about that guest. Since it was such a small, intentional group of people, it genuinely meant a lot to everyone there. You could see people reading them and getting emotional at dinner.
