Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres Wedding, Mexico | Emily+Chris

I’ve been to Mexico many times, but this was my first time photographing a wedding there. Emily and Chris were married at Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres, a beautiful high-end, adults-only resort, so I made the trip on my own for four days to document their wedding.

This was in August so it was very hot! It honestly doesn’t really bother me at, but it did bother my cameras. Going from air condition to sweltering heat, fogs up lenses very quickly. You may notice a little haziness in some of the ceremony photos where I couldn’t wait the necessary time for a lens to defog. I had two cameras on me, and one of them was taking its sweet time clearing up!

This whole wedding party were absolute legends, the dancing was next level. Nobody cared about the 35°C dance floor or how sweaty they were getting. Everyone danced non stop and it made for the most epic photos.

When I photograph destination weddings, I start early and end late. The whole day matters, and I want to document all of it. Then I go back to my room, shower, and get into bed. Zero commute.

On this particular wedding, the reward was getting into bed and watching The Walking Dead: Dead City. So basically: wedding, shower, zombies, sleep. A very successful work trip.
